Social and Emotional Learning: A Key Component of Education
Professionals in the fields of education and mental health have recognized for some time the importance of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL), a critical adjunct to academic learning in our schools. SEL is a process through which children and adults acquire skills to enable them to manage their emotions, take responsibility for their own behaviors, maintain positive relationships with others, and communicate effectively.
